Seeking out beautiful objects for me started a long time ago, as a child, not in a store, but in my Grandmother’s house. Everything in her home was an antique and breakable. Even the Louis XIV sofas were covered in plastic. There was one spot, however, that I was allowed to play in. That spot was in the eaves of the roof, in the attic bedroom. The room spanned the length of the house, with windows at each end. I would treasure hunt for hours at a time. My Grandmother had kept everything, including mementos from her childhood in England. Her collection included costume jewelry, my Grandfather’s trunk from World War I (still full), party dresses, English hats in their boxes, my Mother’s wooden toddler bed, and lots of books about British Royalty. I loved every minute I spent up there.

 

My search continues today at International markets. I am continually inspired by the flea markets of London, Paris, and Provence, and the amazing shops that line the city streets. On every trip home and abroad, I search for special, unique gifts and home décor items that will provide joy and constant pleasure in your home. At La Belle Maison (The Beautiful House), we believe that things should be of quality construction, simple, functional, and beautiful. Our style is Provencal Country, and our predominantly European products are sure to enhance your home. We also carry baby items because they are simply too hard to resist.
